Sustainability at G Systems Co.

linked to our DNA

Sustainability is not a slogan we picked up last year. Since 1993, the Versagrit® formula has used roughly 60% plant-based, organic, or production-recycled content — not because it sounded good in marketing, but because it made sense looking at what was leaving the factory as waste.

Sustainable production

60% of our material is obtained from plant and organic sources.

That keeps virgin-resource demand lower and shrinks the footprint of every seat we ship.

A seat that lasts is the most underrated sustainability play. The Versagrit® and Duroplast we mold are built to outlast the bathroom they ship to — and that means fewer replacements, less waste.

Sustainable actions

We have ambitious goals. A focus on innovative, organic and recycled raw materials plays a key role in our ongoing industrial transformation, enabling us to reduce emissions and make cleaner and more efficient use of our water and energy resources.

Throughout 2024, 100% of the electricity used at our facilities has been sourced exclusively from renewable energy, actively contributing to the promotion of a cleaner and more responsible future.

Packaging is cardboard and recycled plastic — no single-use plastic in our shipments. The factory roof carries solar panels. Small, concrete changes; they add up.

Reducing high-level energy use

We use energy efficiency management software (Energy Management Software – EMS) to monitor our energy consumption in order to reduce energy use at a high level.

Commitment towards a circular economy

We work on the circular economy the boring way — through the three Rs:

Reduce

Reuse

Recycle

The Versagrit® blend is built from surplus organic material, plant-based sources, and reused production residue. The scrap from our own line — the off-cuts, the rejected molds — goes back into the next batch. Nothing leaves as waste if we can help it.

We promote sustainability and carbon footprint reduction through local manufacturing and collaboration with local suppliers, as well as vertical integration of all our processes, from the production of raw materials and components to the final product.

Sustainable production process

We use materials of natural origin: wood flours, hazelnut shells, and resin.

We crush and reprocess the scrap material and products that do not meet quality standards to manufacture new Versagrit.

We only use recycled material for packaging.

Sustainable Development Goals

Respect for the environment and the objective of promoting responsible social development are
behind all our actions and commitments.

We work on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In total, the
company’s activity has a direct impact on eight of the goals set by the UN:

CBS Personas was born as a project that encompasses all actions to care for and protect all workers during the performance of their activities within the company.

We have an Equality Plan with the aim of offering a transparent, responsible and committed image of equal opportunities.

We have installed solar panels at our production sites and have an EMS to minimise high energy consumption.

The people on the line matter most. We work to keep conditions on the floor good — safety, training, fair shifts.

We understand innovation and industry development as part of the pillars that represent us as a company.

For more than three decades, our Versagrit® toilet seats have been molded with about 60% of the material coming from plant-based, organic, and recycled sources.

Real projects, not promises: solar panels on the factory roof, recycled-only packaging materials, and ongoing work to cut energy per unit produced.

At G Systems Co. we have certified our Versagrit® material with the PEFC: Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
